Senior Joomla and PHP Developer
We are currently looking for a senior PHP developer with a focused expertise on Joomla deployment.
The position will be an 8 week contract Job working in our Columbia Maryland office. (Telecommuters need not apply)
Requirements:
- Must know how to manipulate existing codes/integrate databases and third party tools
- Well versed in creating cross browser compatible site creation
- Highly proficient in HTML, JavaScript, CSS and AJAX
- At least 5 years PHP and mySQL development experience
- Expert proficiency with Joomla integration and customization
- Very comfortable leading presentations and trainings for Joomla
- Must be comfortable working with others in a team-based production environment
- Work with Graphic Designers to slice graphics and build out HTML pages
- Comfortable interacting with the client side technical lead on a daily basis
- Proficient in integration and customization of Joomla Modules

Web Designer/Graphic Designer
Web designers are responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of a website. Using a combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge of how web pages are created, the work involves:
- liaising closely with a customer or client at the design stage to answer questions such as: why is the site needed? who are the target audience? who are the leading competitors? etc;
- producing a design that will be attractive to the target user, has a logical navigation system and has all the features required;
- writing web pages in a combination of codes, such as hypertext mark-up language (HTML), JavaScript, ActionScript, ColdFusion, Java, Perl and Flash, or using code-generating programs, such as Dreamweaver;
- deciding on how images and other material will be digitally optimized and presented for the web.
- testing the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions;
fixing errors.
Web designers will have knowledge of graphic design packages such as Fireworks or Photoshop in order to produce basic layout and manipulate images. Skills in cascading style sheets (CSS), e-commerce and server side technologies, such as PHP and Perl, and internet security are also important. As users gain faster access to the internet via broadband, web designers with skills in multimedia and interactivity are likely to be in greater demand.

The experienced SR.NET Developer/Team Leader guides the design and implementation of web applications; participates in the planning, estimating and measurement of design and implementation activities to accomplish associated project milestones and goals. To be successful in this role, you must be a motivated self-starter who requires little supervision after having received initial direction. This person is recognized as a technical leader and knowledgeable resource for the entire company. This individual brings an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to create solutions that will enhance a websites competitive edge.
Requirements:
- Develop technical functionality and implementation of internet/intranet sites
- Maintenance pre-existing sites (ASP and .net)
- Work with Graphic Designers to slice graphics and build out HTML pages
- Adheres to strict XHTML and CSS(2) standards
- Work with Sales Team on pricing and specs for new opportunities
- Assist with presentations for new and existing clients when needed
Core Duties/Responsibilities:
- Experience with technical documentation (technical requirements, design, UML)
- Expert level skills (3+ years industry experience) in .NET Framework (C#/VB.NET), ASP.NET, ASP.NET XML Web Services (ASMX)
- Strong skills in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -- Database design and optimization, Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, Stored Procedures, Indexing and relationships
- Strong understanding of ASP. NET User and Server, ASP.NET HTTP pipeline and the life cycle of ASP.NET controls
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented design (classes, constructors, interfaces, properties, methods, and events)
- Hands on experience using both Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
- Experience developing, following and enforcing, development standards
- Experience incorporating 3rd party libraries and frameworks
- Working knowledge of the following XML technologies -- XML Information Set, XSLT, XPath, XML DOM, XML Schema, Namespaces
- Knowledge in .NET Framework 2.0 or higher
- Familiarity and experience executing several software development methodologies and life cycles
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 2003 Server - IIS 6.0, IIS Infrastructure, NLB, HTTP infrastructure, Security, Configuration
Industry exposure with Classic ASP, COM, VB6, VB.NET
- Mastery of HTML/Javascript/DHTML
- Must be able to hand-code cross browser and cross-platform compliant web user interfaces

Required Education/Experience:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical degree program and 5+ years experience required
- 5+ years of overall IT experience
